At Neuro Navigation, we believe every child deserves a pathway to literacy that honors their unique neurodivergent mind. Across the United States, a profound shift is happening—states are passing laws to align reading instruction with the evidence-based Science of Reading. This movement holds significant promise for dyslexic, ADHD, autistic, and other neurodivergent learners, as it emphasizes the structured, explicit, and systematic teaching of foundational reading skills that many of our children desperately need.
However, a law on paper is not enough.
True change happens in the implementation, resources, and ongoing advocacy that ensure these policies serve all learners, especially those who think differently.
This month, we are doing a blog series that breaks down what’s happening state-by-state: the laws passed, the training underway, the early results, and what it means for your family. We’ll celebrate wins, highlight gaps, and equip you to advocate effectively at your child’s school.
Our tone is one of hopeful vigilance. Progress is being made, but our work is not done until every neurodivergent child can access their right to read.
